How to Use Emoji Kitchen: The Complete Guide
How to Use Emoji Kitchen: The Complete Guide
Emoji Kitchen is Google's tool for blending two emojis into a single sticker-style image. There are well over 100,000 curated pairings in Google's data — far more than most people discover on a phone keyboard alone.
KitchenMoji brings Emoji Kitchen to any browser: desktop, tablet, or mobile. You do not need Gboard or an Android device. This guide walks through the full workflow, common problems, and where to go next.
What is Emoji Kitchen?
Emoji Kitchen started inside Google Gboard on Android. When you pick one emoji and then another, Gboard sometimes shows a custom blend (for example, a grinning face with heart eyes merged with a fire emoji).
KitchenMoji uses the same official artwork CDN and pairing rules, plus:
- A searchable emoji grid
- Copy and download actions
- Links to combination meaning pages
- Favorites saved in your browser (no account)

KitchenMoji vs Gboard: what is the same?
| Feature | Gboard (Android) | KitchenMoji (web) |
|--------|------------------|-------------------|
| Official mashup images | Yes | Yes |
| Works without installing an app | No | Yes |
| iPhone / iPad | Limited | Yes (browser) |
| Download PNG | Varies | One click |
| Combination meanings & SEO pages | No | Yes |
| Share link to a specific pair | Limited | Yes (/emoji/hex--hex) |
Step 1: Choose your first emoji
- Open the KitchenMoji homepage.
- Scroll or search the grid — try names like
fire, heart, cat. - Click or tap an emoji. It highlights as your first pick.
Mobile tip: Use landscape mode on small phones for a wider grid. The picker is touch-friendly; you do not need a mouse.
Step 2: Choose your second emoji
- After the first selection, pick a second emoji from the grid.
- If Google has published a blend for that pair, the mashup image loads in about half a second.
- If no blend exists, you will see a message to try another pair — this is normal; not every combination is in the kitchen.
Why some pairs fail: Google manually approves blends. Experimental or rare pairs may never get artwork even though the Unicode characters still paste fine in chat.
Step 3: Copy, download, or share
Once a mashup appears:
- Copy emoji — copies both Unicode characters (e.g. 😀🔥) for bios, tweets, and comments.
- Download — saves a PNG you can drop into Instagram Stories, TikTok, Discord, or iMessage.
- Share — opens your device's share sheet or copies a link to this combination.
Unicode copies work everywhere emojis are supported. PNG downloads work anywhere images are accepted.

What does this combination mean?
Images are only half the story. Many users search for why a pair is used together (for example 😭💀 on TikTok).
After you create a mashup:
- Scroll to related links on the pair page, or
- Visit Emoji Combinations to browse meaning-first pages.

Troubleshooting
The mashup image never loads
- Check the pair — try reversing order or a common pair like 😀 + 🔥.
- Network — images load from Google's CDN; ad blockers or corporate firewalls occasionally block
gstatic.com. - Refresh — rare cache issues clear with a hard reload.
Copy works but paste shows boxes
The destination app or font may not support that Unicode version. Try a common emoji first (😀 ❤️ 🔥) to test the app.
Downloaded PNG looks blurry
Use the downloaded file at its native size. Messengers that recompress large stickers may soften edges — upload at 1× scale when possible.
I only need text emojis, not images
Use Copy emoji and skip download. See how to copy and paste emojis for device-specific tips.
